While I’ve been a professional web developer for 17+ years, I’ve been an artist all my life. Back in high school in the late 80’s, I fell in love with strips like Calvin & Hobbes, Bloom County and The Far Side. I’d always wanted to do my own strip, and did some pretty bad ones in school. But for some reason, for a huge chunk of my life after graduating in 1990, art just fell completely off my radar.
After my wife and I relocated from Marietta, Ohio to the Atlanta area, I began to get excited about art again and have been drawing as much as I can, both traditionally and digitally, ever since. I started Happy Accidents in 2009, but over the years, it was “on hiatus” more than it was active. Now that I have the day job I always wanted, and I’ve sorted some of my priorities out, I feel I’m ready to become a comic strip artist for real. And this is the place to see it happen.
I can’t promise I’ll always be on time with strips. I can’t promise they’ll always be funny. What I can promise is that you’ll see an someone doing what he loves and growing as an artist. Hopefully you’ll get some enjoyment from it as well.
If you’d like to follow me and my art elsewhere, here’s all the places I hang out.
